I know what it’s like to feel completely unsatisfied with your life.
Just three years ago, that was me. I had finally left an unhappy marriage but then found myself at an all-time low both financially and mentally. I decided that’s not what I wanted for my life, so I decided to make some serious changes.
I took control of my finances and I took control of my goals and created a life that makes me excited to wake up each and every day.
Now I help other women take control of their lives and reach their personal and financial goals.
Hey, I’m Erin!
I’m a writer and entrepreneur living in Madison Wisconsin.
I’m passionate about helping you reach your personal and financial goals because I know what it’s like to feel unsatisfied with your life, but also unsure of how to fix it.
I was at a place in my life where I wanted more, but I didn’t even know what goals to set. I would come up with grand ideas, but spend all my time in the planning phase and never take any action. I was a procrastinator through and through.
But I’d had enough. Enough of being in an unhappy marriage. Enough of feeling trapped by my financial situation. Enough of questioning my career choices.
I finally realized that if I wanted to design my dream life, I had to take action. It wasn’t going to happen by accident.
That’s why I’m here.
I’m here to help you take control of your life. To help you finally learn to master your time and your money. To help you finally create the mindset you need to reach all of your big, scary personal and financial goals.
So how the heck did I get here?
I’ve been passionate about writing for as long as I can remember. Growing up, I loved writing both in and out of school. Whether it was short stories, journaling, or even college research papers – I was there for it.
Then I graduated from college and went into a career in government. As anyone who has worked in government can tell you, there isn’t a lot of room for creative expression.
I could feel myself getting restless. And so in 2014, I decided to start a blog that could be a creative outlet.
It didn’t take long after starting my blog to realize that this thing could be a lot more than just a hobby and that plenty of people were turning their blogs into legit businesses. I figured if they could do it, why couldn’t I?
Over the next few years, I continued to grow my blog and increase my income. It was pretty much a dream come true. The problem was, the rest of my life wasn’t going quite as well.
After college, I had gotten engaged, gotten married, and bought a house. Because those just all seemed like the logical next steps.
But it didn’t take long to realize I had made a horrible mistake. I had done all of the things that society had told me I was supposed to do, and I wasn’t happy.
So at the age of 27, I found myself divorced, moving from my three-bedroom house into a studio apartment, and completely starting over financially.
My business was put on the back burner and my financial situation got increasingly worse. Let me tell you, divorce isn’t cheap.
If I’m being honest, it took me a while to figure my shit out again.
I was learning to live with significantly less income than I was used to. My blog income had disappeared since I wasn’t making time for it, so I was basically starting over again. And I’m not going to lie, I was spending a lot of time feeling sorry for myself.
Eventually, I had to show myself some tough love and give myself the kick in the ass I needed to get back on my feet.
I started prioritizing personal development and managing my mindset. I learned everything I could about personal finance and taking control of my money. And I went all-in on my blog. I took my blog in a completely different direction from where it had been before and even started a freelance writing business to go along with it.
Today, my life looks so different than it did two years ago.
I’m designing my dream life instead of just letting life happen to me.
I’ve mapped out my goals and I know what the next year looks like for me.
I’m taking control of my life.
